BCTGM Local 264 proudly announces that over 95% of our Members employed at Concord Confections voted to accept the Collective Agreement. 

Key Highlights of this Agreement are:

• All Trades received an immediate $5.36/hour adjustment
• Panners received $2.00/hour adjustment
• Lead Hands received $0.25/hour adjustment
• Vision Care was $175/year – and it will now be $200 in Year 2 of the CA and $225 in Year 4
• Deductible for Extended Care has improved – was $65 for Family benefits, and is now only $50; and for Single subscribers it went from $35 to $25
• Prescription Maximums increased from $12000 per year to $13000
• The Company increased its coverage of the annual $250 available for Paramedical Benefits from 80% up to 100%, and in Year 3 of the CA, the amount for paramedical benefits will be $300.
• Now there is wage protection for Chief Stewards in the event of a layoff
• For the first time ever, the Employer agreed to implement a pension plan – participation is voluntary and the Employer will match contributions
• Employer is prevented from paying wages higher than the CA provides for
• Each Employee is granted a lump sum payment of $200 which can be used as a first time pension contribution or as a cash payment
• Overall wages Increases:
  • Year 1 increase $1.50/hour retroactive to February 2024
  • Year 2 increase $1.20/hour
  • Year 3 increase $1.00/hour
  • Year 4 increase $1.00/hour
  • Year 5 increase $1.10/hour
  • Maintenance Classification also received the above noted increases PLUS an additional $0.20/hour adjustment

Concord Confection Workers Sign New Contract

On April 14, 2024 the Members of BCTGM Local 264 employed at two Concord Confections locations in Vaughan, Ontario, overwhelmingly voted to accept a new 5-year Collective Agreement (CA).

The negotiations were led by BCTGM Canadian VP, Ron Piercey. On the Negotiating Committee were Business Agent Bill Hegedus, Muniruddin Ahmed, Quan Hoc Duong, Bing Zhong Lin, Earl Lucier, Alex Melkonian, Navaneethan Navaratnam, Eslyn Smith, Robert Ziniuk, and Karl Walker, International Representative.
