Congratulations to George Leaman

BCTGM – here at Local 264 and all across Canada – is tremendously proud of George Leaman, Business Agent Local 406. His dedication to his members is being recognized by the New Brunswick Federation of Labour.

George is the recipient of the 2023 Owen MacLennan Trade Unionist of the Year award.

Daniel Legere, President of the NBFL, said “I am proud to recognize Brother Leaman’s longstanding involvement in the labour movement, as a member of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union. He is a longstanding activist within his union, labour council and the NBFL”. When there is a picket line or a labour-friendly rally in the greater Moncton area, you will find Brother Leaman there.

Presentation of the award will be this Fall and recognition again at the next NBFL Convention, Additionally, a donation in George’s name will be made to the NBFL Blair Doucet Youth Summer Camp, the one at which George has volunteered since its creation over 20 years ago.
